Aloha!

Welcome to Hale’ Pow Mow (Powder Mountain House in Hawaiian). We hope you have a wonderful time here at this special place (both on the mountain and in our lovely cabin). Following are some helpful hints for, and requests of, our guests. Please have a great time but treat Hale’ Pow Mow as we would.

  1. Address - 6607 North Powder Mountain Road, Eden, Ut. 84310

  2. House Phone – 801-745-3087 (most cells don’t work up here).

  3. Emergency – Call 911. Then Management Office 745-1414. First Aid Kit and Emergency Pack in powder bath below sink.

  4. Shoes - Please take off all shoes, boots, sandals, slippers, etc at the entry areas.

  5. Smoking - There is no smoking allowed in the house, on the deck, or in the garage. If you must smoke, please go onto the driveway or on the stone lanai under the deck.

  6. Garbage - Put all garbage in plastic bags and store in the garage in the trashcans. Management will remove garbage when they clean once you have finished your visit. You may also use the recycle bins and garbage truck located in the north end of the main parking lot at Powder Mountain. If you recycle, the recycle bins do not accept glass. Put all glass with the regular trash. Small white bags are in the kitchen & big black bags are in the garage.

  7. Washer – only HE (High Efficiency) Detergent. Detailed instructions in drawer below washer

  8. Dryer – Detailed instructions in drawer below dryer

  9. Water - Please conserve water and try not to take 10 minute or longer showers.

  10. Hot Tub - Leave top on and strapped when not in use or the top may fly off in high winds and you will have to fetch it. Press Jets to start. When you leave, leave the mode on Economy and lock cover please. Hot Tub instructions in this binder.

  11. Great Room and Basement TVs (loft is similar)

    1. To play TV - Use Direct TV remote. Press far right power button and use the Direct TV remote to guide you around the channels. Channel guide in the drawer.

    2. To play DVD - Turn on TV, Direct Receiver, and DVD. Press the SOURCE button on the Samsung remote to AV1. The DVD should show up on the screen and you are good to go. We have some DVD’s in the drawer (please leave them here).

  12. Fire places

    1. Great Room - Best thing to do is just press the mode to on and then see if you want options. Then review manual details in Systems Binder. Flames will be blue for about 10 minutes, then yellow. To turn off, press the mode to off and the red lights will show. *** If the fireplace won’t work and the lighting bolt shows on the control panel, please look in the Systems Binder for instructions on how to fix this.

    2. Basement – Flip both switches on the wall to start fireplace. You may have to do this more than once.

  13. Heater - Instructions in the drawer below thermostat. *** When you leave, put the temperature at 62-64 degrees. Please don’t heat higher than 72 degrees nor lower than 60 degrees.

  14. Wireless Internet – Don’t rename the site. Just use it as listed.

  15. Dishwasher - Unless you have a very special washing event, just use the speed cycle.

  16. Cars - Feel free to use the garage but keep doors shut when not going in and out. Opening controls are by the interior lower entry door. The door by the stairs is not working for some reason. Extra cars should park on the driveway and not on Freshies Lane. If you have cars on Freshies Lane, you may have to move them when the plows come by. The plows will do as much of the driveway as they can, but it can get kind of icy on the driveway so be careful going up and down (driving or walking). The PVC pipes at the end of the drive indicate a severe drop outside of them. We recommend you do not drive outside the pipes. There is salt and a snow shovel in the garage if needed.

  17. Sleeper Sofas - The basement & loft couches fold out into full beds. Linens in the near closet.

  18. Floor Futons - We have a few floor futons in the closets or under the beds if needed.

  19. Deck Shoveling – If you could do 15 minutes a day of snow shoveling off the deck, we would greatly appreciate it. Just the front deck, entry area, and steps.

  20. Information - The manuals for all the equipment and stuff is in these two white binders. If you have problems with anything, hopefully the answer is in the binders.

Have fun and enjoy. Eric and Celeste Smith
